Report – Mourinho’s Tottenham job is safe for now

Tottenham hired Jose Mourinho as their manager because they wanted to start winning trophies and to play in the Champions League consistently.

The Special One is a specialist at that, and his record speaks for itself.

He joined Spurs before the end of last season and couldn’t deliver Champions League football.

But he helped them move from closer to the foot of the league table to finish the last campaign in a Europa League spot.

After being backed somewhat in the summer transfer window, the club will expect a trophy and a return to the top four at the end of this season.

Spurs are falling away in the top four race and have just been eliminated from the FA Cup.

They now have to win the Europa League or end the campaign in better shape to secure Champions League football.

During their current poor run of form, there have been calls for them to axe Mourinho, a decision that would be welcomed by some Spurs fans.

However, Mirror Football claims that the former Inter Milan managers job is safe for now.

The club isn’t thinking about firing him, at least until the end of the season and they are confident that things will get better.
