Report: Barcelona keen on pursuing Tottenham’s £25M talent

Tottenham Hotspur will look to sell players this summer who aren’t in the plans of manager Antonio Conte for next season. The north London club already has players out on loan that they’ll look to move on from this summer.

However, there are also players on the current team that Conte might have needed an additional look at and has decided that they’re not players suited for his squad.

The Italian tactician wants to upgrade the wing-back positions, which means Sergio Reguilon could be available. The Mirror reports that FC Barcelona is preparing to swoop in for the 25-year-old.

Barcelona is attempting to sign a top left-back this summer and has also been linked with Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, but they’re readying to have backup plans in case that pursuit stalls.

Nonetheless, a switch to Barcelona would be an interesting one for Reguilon since he did spend time with Real Madrid; nevertheless, it isn’t unheard of to see players suit up for the two rivals in Spanish football.

Reguilon has a £27.5million buy-back clause for him to return to the Bernabeu Stadium, so if Spurs were to part ways with the defender, it will be interesting to see if they’re keen on this price.

Transfermarkt puts the Spain international’s value at £25-million.
