Reliable journalist confirms Spurs’ interest in EPL star is ‘real’ as Paratici eyes ‘huge’ player for Conte

Lee Ryder of The Chronicle has confirmed that Tottenham’s interest in Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin is ‘real’.

Spurs have already signed six players this summer but their spending spree is said to continue with reports suggesting they are in the market for a creative midfielder and another center-back. Some names that they have been heavily linked with recently are AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and Barcelona’s Memphis Depay.

Saint-Maximin has also been linked with a move to Conte’s side as the Italian prepares for his first full season with the club. Their interest in the Newcastle star has now been confirmed by The Chronicle’s reliable journalist, Lee Ryder. He claimed that Spurs’ interest is very much ‘real’ and the club even sent some ‘senior talent spotters’ to watch him in the last few months including Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace where the Frenchman put on an impressive show.

However, Ryder states that there is nothing ‘concrete’ from Spurs as yet and that Chelsea are also monitoring the player. Saint-Maximin can be an excellent addition to any team.

On his day he is unplayable upfront, but it will be surprising if Spurs sign him now considering they are already stacked up with attacking options for the positions he would play in. Newcastle will not be looking to sell him either. According to inews, he remains a ‘central part’ of Howe’s plans and a ‘huge’ favourite of the new owners.
