It is an international break and with that comes a silly period of reporting from journalists, mainly because they have almost no club news to report.
You would expect Sky Sports to keep themselves above the fray when it comes to “transfer rumours” but it seems to some fans that they are not much better than the scummy tabloids that peddle bull all day long.
Basically, Sky Sports have run with the headline “Harry Kane: England and Tottenham striker to decide future after Euros” the problem is that nowhere in the article does it quote Kane or any of his representatives saying any such thing.
He actually said “I’m fully focussed on doing the job on the pitch from now until the end of the summer, and then we’ll see where we go from there.”
Nothing about making any decision on his future, he was simply deflecting speculation that comes up every time he does an interview.
But of course, it is Harry Kane and any words he utters has to mean something, even when it does not.
Here is a sample of the responses to the article after Sky Sports posted it up on Twitter and you can see that some fans are now getting fed up with the constant speculation, much of which is simply made up.
