Maksim Paskotši’s Baptism Of Fire As Estonia Lose 2:6 To The Czech Republic

Last night saw Spurs’ left centre-back Maksim Paskotši make his debut for Estonia, who were sadly on the wrong end of an 8 goal game against the Czech Republic, in one of last night’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Despite losing 2-6, Maksim himself didn’t have a terrible game other than his passing accuracy which at 47%, he will know to be very poor. For context, his mean average at Tottenham is 81.8%.

Duels

Maksim won 7 of the 8 duels he participated in, and if we look at the interceptions the boy made, then despite there having been a dozen, they were on the frenetic, low end of what qualifies as an interception, and if I showed you clips, you’d honestly wonder why I’d bothered.

In truth, Maksim only got into this game due to a significant COVID-19 outbreak, and it would be entirely unfair to make any lasting judgements about the kid after this game.

I’m sure some Czech Republic fans will be waking up this morning beaming from ear to ear, but this wasn’t a great game by any means.
