Jose Mourinho is hopeful that Tanguy Ndombele will declare himself fit for Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Norwich City on Saturday.
The French midfielder was a surprising omission from the squad which beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 on Boxing Day, with Mourinho later telling BBC Sport that the 22-year-old had told him he did not feel ready to play.

It seemed to be a veiled dig at Ndombele but Mourinho has said the player was just being “honest” about his condition having struggled with a persistent hamstring injury since his arrival from Lyon in the summer.
The Spurs boss did however suggest that he would be keen to have Ndombele available to cover the loss of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko in midfield, both of whom are suspended for the trip to Carrow Road.
