“It sounds like he’s leaving his mark there.” Pundit reacts to latest Conte updates

Former Premier League goalkeeper, Paddy Kenny is shocked at the revelation that some players at Tottenham are overweight.

This has seen Antonio Conte ban some foods from the players meals and Kenny says it’s a sign the Italian is leaving his mark on the team.

He told Football Insider: “You hear about managers coming into a club and complaining about fitness all the time.

“The players aren’t good enough and on top of that, they aren’t working hard enough. They are all working at 25 per cent. I can’t believe it. It’s shocking, really.

“Having said that, I don’t know how much difference getting rid of ketchup and mayo is going to make.

“Although, maybe that’s what held me back in my career come to think of it. I could have been world class without the sauces.

“I’m only joking, but you do wonder how much impact this sort of thing can really have. But either way, it sounds like he’s leaving his mark there.”

The Boy Hotspur Says

Conte is a seasoned manager and the Italian knows the scale of the task he has taken on at Spurs.

The Lilywhites are currently one of the most underachieving clubs in Europe and an overhaul is seriously needed.

It might seem that banning certain foods from the players’ meals is an insignificant thing, but it is the minor changes that add up to bring about transformation.

Conte’s CV doesn’t leave anyone guessing if he knows what he is doing and the Italian knows what he has to do to set himself up for success.

Hopefully, the likes of Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Matt Doherty would embrace the changes he is bringing to the team and get back to form.

Players that don’t get better will simply be offloaded and Conte has shown at his previous clubs that you’re either in or you’re out of his plans for good.
