“It is true that at a certain moment I wanted to leave” Tottenham star admits to wanting out in the summer

Tanguy Ndombele has admitted that he considered leaving Tottenham after his poor start to life in England.

The Frenchman joined Spurs in the summer of 2019 after they had lost the Champions League final to Liverpool.

He started his first campaign poorly and fell out with the very demanding Jose Mourinho later in the season.

There was speculation that he would leave the club last summer, just one year after making the move to London.

However, Tottenham refused to allow him to leave, and he has now confirmed that as true.

He admitted that things didn’t work out for him, and he thought he was probably at the wrong team.

He wanted to leave, but the club wouldn’t grant him his wish.

Ndombele is now one of the first names on the Tottenham team sheet as he continues to get better under the Special One.

“My first season was tough, I questioned myself a lot, now the page is turned,” he told TF1 as quoted by Express Sport.

“It is true that at a certain moment I wanted to leave, I didn’t feel in the right place. I told them I wanted out. They didn’t want me to go.”

Not letting him leave is probably one of the best decisions the club made in the last transfer window.
