“I’ll even say he’s been their best signing” Alan Hutton impressed with Tottenham hardman

Tottenham signed several players in the last transfer window and the most high-profile addition to the team was Gareth Bale.

The Welshman has been at the club before and he left them in 2013 for a world-record move to Real Madrid.

He has picked up a lot of silverware in club football and he returns to the Spurs as one of the most accomplished players in the world.

While several fans and football observers around the world have been waiting to see how Bale helps Tottenham’s bid for the league title, one new signing has been in fine form.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon also joined the club in the last transfer window and they have been in top form for the team, but the former is the player that has impressed the most, according to Alan Hutton.

The former Spurs defender has been thrilled with the performances of the Dane and reckons that he has been the best player Spurs signed in the last transfer window.

Hutton told Football Insider: “I’ll even say he’s been their best signing, there you go, and that’s them bringing Bale in and everything. I think he has been the part that they have missed for years.

“That steeliness, that player that keeps it simple but it’s not just sideways, it’s not just that type of guy. He seems like he’s in there, he’s a talker, he’s a leader, he could be captain I think. He’s been a revelation for them and they’ve really missed that type of player.

“Now he’s nailed on, it’s him and somebody else and I think him and Sissoko make a great partnership which allows the forward four, even Ndombele in that number 10 position, to kind of go and be a free spirit, if you want.

“Go and do your thing, win us the game, we will make sure everything’s solid at the back and you go win us the game, so it’s a great blend.”
