‘I will never rule it out’ Spurs target could remain open to a Premier League return

Memphis Depay has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League over the past month, with Arsenal and Spurs said to be the two clubs interested in him.

The former Manchester United man spent 18 months at Old Trafford scoring only 7 times in 53 appearances before leaving in 2017 and was considered a flop.

Doubts were raised about whether Depay could handle the Premier League but the Dutchman has full confidence in his ability. In the past, the boy did not rule out a Premier League return saying (via Express) :

“It’s a very nice competition. It’s up to the club that is interested. I belong in a team that plays good football and can play around me so that I can do my thing. I will never rule it out.”

This quote from 2019 should give Spurs hope as they are once again strongly linked with a move for him. They have already made an enquiry for him and with Barcelona also looking to sell him for a decent price the move could very well be on.

Depay will have a point to prove which could be a motivating factor for him to make the move while for Antonio Conte, he could be an excellent addition to an already scary attack. With the price that he’s being offered, it should be a no-brainer for any team!
