“I think Tottenham have gone way in front of Arsenal as a team” Redknapp praises Mourinho’s team

For years Tottenham was considered the second-best team in north London after Arsenal.

Under Arsene Wenger, the Gunners won the Premier League among other trophies while finishing ahead of Spurs for much of the time.

The tables have turned over the last few years even though Spurs are still trophyless.

The Lilywhites are currently top of the Premier League table, they reached the final of the Champions League in 2019 as well.

Jose Mourinho has the proven track record of winning things and Spurs backed him heavily in the last transfer window.

Arsenal, on the other hand, is struggling for form even though they added the likes of Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes to their team recently.

Harry Redknapp managed Spurs for a few years and he finished in the Champions League spot on at least one occasion, he thinks that this current Spurs team is simply stronger than Arsenal’s.

He told Talksport as quoted by the Metro: ‘Tottenham have got a good squad. They’ve got strength in depth, they’ve got two internationals for every position, it’s a very different looking Tottenham squad and it’s very strong.

‘I think they’ve got a real chance [of winning the title]. The two squads now, there’s no comparison, for me. I think Tottenham have gone way in front of Arsenal as a team.

‘I think Arsenal are where I expected them to be, I think they’ll finish up in the top seven or eight, but just about.

‘Arteta has got a long job on his hands, I like him but it’s not an easy one, and I think their team is well short.

‘I’ve watched them over the last few weeks and I wouldn’t compare them with Tottenham, I think Tottenham will be too strong for Arsenal.’
