Hoddle says Lampard is copying Mourinho’s approach to winning the Premier League

Jose Mourinho has recently ruled Tottenham out of the title race even though it is obvious to see that his team are title contenders (BBC).

The Special One has made Spurs a well-oiled machine this season, and they have been top of the Premier League over the past three weeks.

Mourinho is refusing to accept that his team is one of the favourites to win the title, and Frank Lampard has recently employed the same tactic.

The Blues manager was responding to comments from Jurgen Klopp who said his side is in the title race, and he said that assessment was ridiculous (Liverpool Echo).

Glenn Hoddle was speaking to Evening Standard recently and he said that he can see that Lampard is trying to copy Mourinho.

He said that despite what Lampard thinks or says, the Premier League is there for the taking in this campaign.

Adding that if anyone is in doubt that this is a very unpredictable season, then they simply need to look at the results from the past weekend.

He told the Evening Standard: “It is a little bit like Jose Mourinho saying Tottenham are like a ‘little pony’ in the race compared to the thoroughbred racehorses. I can see where Frank is coming from.

“But if there is ever a season where someone can come through and win the Premier League, it could be this year. You only have to look at the results this past weekend”
