‘Final details’ Fabrizio confirms Spurs tying up a loan deal

The backline is a priority for Tottenham Hotspur as they look to find a third member to go along with Cristian Romero and Eric Dier for manager Antonio Conte’s three-at-the-back system.

Spurs have been linked to various players this summer that would fill the need, and one of them is FC Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet. According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League side is on the verge of bringing the France international to north London.

Romano adds that the Spanish club and Tottenham are working on the “final details” regarding a loan deal for Lenglet. The player is waiting for negotiations to be completed very soon as the two parties discuss the salary situation.

It will be interesting to see whether Lenglet is brought in to be the starter for Conte or depth reasons, considering Davinson Sanchez has seen his name in the rumour mill regarding a possible departure this summer.

Last season, the 27-year-old made 27 appearances for the La Liga side, but he isn’t a player that manager Xavi Hernandez will be counting on for next season.
