Eriksen’s Inter dream looking more like a nightmare as Conte stamps his mark in Milan

The grass is not always greener, and Christian Eriksen must be asking himself what sort of mess he has got himself into, after letting his Spurs career go to the wayside, only to find that his dream trip to Italy has turned out to be a holiday from hell.

The Dane scuttled out of North London in January, after finally agreeing a €20million fee with the Italians – this mind you – was against a backdrop of failing to have sufficiently enticed Real Madrid or Manchester United.

According to Football Italia, Conte has been left decidedly unimpressed with Eriksen, and the now 28-year-old looks likely to be moved on in this summer’s market.

Conte lashed out recently, to remind Christian that he wasn’t playing in “peaceful” England any more, which rather begs the question if the Dane had been phoning it in for so long at Spurs that he had actually forgotten how to play at the right levels?

A €60million fee has been touted – good luck with that, Antonio.
