Eder Militao To Spurs Makes Sense [opinion]

Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Real Madrid defender Eder Militao as an option to strengthen the Tottenham defense.

Further, with Jan Vertonghen’s current contract set to expire this summer, Mourinho may well need to fill the void he leaves behind and shore things up at the back.

Spurs have conceded 40 goals in their 29 Premier League games so far this season, giving them the joint-worst defensive record of the top 11 sides in the standings.

As reported by The Sun, via El Desmarque, it’s suggested that the Tottenham boss has made contact with Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez over Militao, but has been quoted a sizeable transfer fee of £70 million.

The 22-year-old has made just 13 appearances in his debut campaign at the Bernabeu, having previously impressed during his spell with Porto.

Should he fail to secure a more prominent role and more playing time between now and the end of the season, Tottenham could be handed a boost in their touted transfer pursuit of the Brazilian defender.
