Club chief initiates contact to sign Tottenham player

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Italian outfit Salernitana regarding Pape Matar Sarr.

According to Calciomercato, the 20-year-old’s performances in Qatar impressed the Italian club and they are looking to bring him in when the transfer window opens in January.

Club director Morgan De Sanctis has initiated contacts regarding a January transfer.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can negotiate an acceptable deal with the midfielder’s suitors.

Sarr has struggled for regular game time at the London club and a move away would be ideal for him.

He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career in order to fulfill his potential.

The Senegal international has the ability to develop into a quality player with game time and experience.

Meanwhile, Spurs are fighting for a place in the top four, and weakening their squad in January might not be a smart decision.

It remains to be seen whether the Londoners decide to bring in someone before letting the youngster leave the club.

Conte needs to add more variety to his midfield and the Londoners could use a creative midfielder in January.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for players like Adrien Rabiot in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see if they can agree on a move.

As far as Sarr is concerned, the 20-year-old needs a move to get his career back on track.

Tottenham paid £14.5 million to sign the player from Metz and they will be hoping to recoup most of that if they are to sell him next month.

That said, Sarr is a player with enormous talent and a loan move would be ideal for Spurs. He could be a key player for them in the future.
