‘…about to make the offer’ Journalist claims Spurs’ bid for yet another star player is ‘imminent’

According to CNN contributor Tancredi Palmeri, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘about to’ make a bid for AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo, with an offer seemingly imminent.

Spurs, who are looking to build on their top-four finish in the Premier League last season, got their season off to a flying start. Goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier, Mohammed Salisu (own goal), and Dejan Kulusevski helped them to a comfortable 4-1 win over Southampton.

Antonio Conte, who will be delighted with the perfect start to the new season is looking to further strengthen his squad with AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo said to be his top target.

And according to a reputable Italian journalist, Palmeri, who is also a contributor at CNN a spurs bid for the Roma star is imminent. He tweeted: ‘Tottenham is about to make the offer for Zaniolo.’

There are reports suggesting that Roma will not be budging at anything less than £50m, and if speculations are to be believed, it looks like Spurs might be willing to meet their valuation. Whether it is a straight cash offer or cash plus player offer is something that we’ll have to wait and see since Jose Mourinho is interested in a couple of Spurs players as well. But regardless, it looks like Spurs are closer than ever to landing Conte’s top target.
