“Wow, wow, wow”: Spurs-supporting Sky Sports journo joins Giovani Lo Celso fan club

With Christian Eriksen now very much on his way out, Tottenham are crying out for a player who can take on his title as chief playmaker.

Giovani Lo Celso has seemingly been auditioning for the role since arriving in the summer.

But it is only in recent weeks that he has started to convince Spurs fans in their masses.

Lo Celso was arguably the best player on the pitch during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton.

His strong and skillful run started the counter-attack which ended with Son Heung-min firing in his second goal in as many games.

And journalist Michael Bridge – who has “Tottenham Hotspur Annuals 2008-17” in his Twitter bio – was quick to praise Lo Celso on social media.

Bridge – a regular on Sky Sports News – wrote: “Wow, wow, wow. Lo Celso is bloody brilliant.”

Manager Jose Mourinho also spoke about Lo Celso after the game.

Discussing the chances of Spurs exercising the option to buy in Lo Celso’s loan deal, Mourinho told football.london: “It’s not an obligation, it’s an option. I think the boy is earning the decision.

“He’s making an easy decision for the club to execute the option. Incredible evolution since I arrived. Barely played a game, I think he played against Red Star Belgrade, with me a little bit difficult to come in the first few weeks.

“But he understood what we wanted. Good learner, good kid and I think by himself he made the decision that the club is going to execute the option. That’s normal, he earned it.”
