“We have to find solutions” – Nuno Espírito Santo comments on Tottenham’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur is looking for answers following their 3-0 loss at home against Chelsea FC. After a good start to their Premier League season, the north London-based club has lost back-to-back fixtures, including a lopsided loss at the hands of Crystal Palace.

Manager Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad has conceded six goals in two games while failing to register a goal in their last two league fixtures. After the match, the Portuguese tactician spoke to the media, where his words were relayed by Football.London, stating his hope to find solutions.

“We have to find solutions. Since the beginning, this is our focus, to find players to perform and the partnership. I honestly believe that the first half was really good, the attitude, the energy, and the spirit. If there’s one positive to take from this game, it’s the first half.”

Nuno also discussed what went wrong in the second half as Tottenham and Chelsea headed into halftime, locked at 0-0. However, the final 45 minutes resulted in three goals for Chelsea to secure the three points.

“A lot of things starting from the way we conceded, it was disappointing, to a set-piece and after that, it became really hard to get back into the game, Chelsea are good team,” Nuno said. “A very good first half, we competed really well, we played good football and pressed high.”

Tottenham will look to put these two losses behind him as they’ll face Arsenal next weekend with an EFL Cup fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers thrown in there in the middle of the week.
