Tottenham tipped to sign 6ft 6in monster as a replacement for stalwart

One position that Tottenham will look to strengthen in the team this summer is the centre of defence.

Jose Mourinho has inherited a team that has been struggling at the back for most of this season.

The Portuguese has been brought in to win trophies for the team that reached the 2019 Champions League final and he knows that he will have to get his defence sorted before he can land major silverware for the team.

Tottenham may lose some defensive members of the current squad with stalwart Jan Vertonghen and young Juan Foyth likely to leave the club in the summer.

Vertonghen will be out of a contract, while Foyth has failed to earn a place in the team under Mourinho.

Football London has taken a look at the players that the Londoners can sign to fix their defence and they have tipped Celtic’s Norwegian star, Kristoffer Ajer to join the Lilywhites.

They reckon that the 6’6 star might be Tottenham’s Virgil van Dijk, who has transformed Liverpool’s defence and made them league champions.

The defender is also wanted by AC Milan ahead of the reopening of the summer transfer window, and a report from Calciomercato reveals that Celtic would sell him for around 20 million Euros.

Ajer is a monster of a defender and it is no surprise that the likes of Spurs are interested in him. He is only 22 and could easily be the core of the Tottenham defence for a good decade.
