Tottenham receive much-needed financial boost ahead of summer window

Tottenham Hotspur have received a much-needed financial boost ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Football London, Tottenham have received £26.8 million pounds from the Premier League for finishing 8th in the league table.

The north London giants have had a disappointing campaign and they have missed out on Champions League qualification. The loss of Champions League revenue will certainly come as a devastating blow to their transfer plans but the Premier League funding will certainly ease the burden.

Daniel Levy is under pressure to bring in a top-class manager this summer and strengthen the squad accordingly.

It is evident that Tottenham need better players in order to compete for major trophies and they need to address the major weaknesses in their squad this summer. Spurs need to sign a reliable defender to partner Cristian Romero. They need someone to share the goalscoring burden with Harry Kane as well. They could use a creative midfielder as well.

The £26.8 million windfall will certainly help them and boost their transfer coffers.

Tottenham will be focused on bringing in a quality manager to replace Ryan Mason now and then a competent sporting director who can sign the right players for them this summer.

Mason is currently the interim manager at the club after Spurs parted ways with Antonio Conte. He is unlikely to get the job full-time. Spurs have been linked with Ange Postecoglou, Julian Nagelsmann, Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany and Luis Enrique in recent weeks.
