Tottenham monitoring the development of a striker hailed as the ‘next Erling Haaland’

Tottenham Hotspur last summer conducted business that saw them grab two players who have raw talent but need more time to develop. Bryan Gil only lasted a few months before being loaned out to Valencia, and there are questions over his future.

Meanwhile, the other player is Pape Matar Sarr, who is returning from a loan stint with FC Metz, and the jury is still out on whether he has a place in the midfield, which will have plenty of competition.

However, that isn’t going to stop Spurs from doing similar business as the Express reports Tottenham is among the clubs tracking 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, who is being hailed as the next Erling Haaland.

The teenager scored ten times in 36 appearances last season for the Austrian champions after netting 21 goals in 29 appearances for Salzburg’s feeder side FC Liefering during his 2020/21 season.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs might purchase him and leave him on loan as they did with Sarr last summer or keep tabs on the striker, which is what the report states they’ll do.
