Tottenham looking to hijack Napoli move for highly coveted Ligue 1 star

Tottenham has been revealed as the team that is trying to hijack Napoli’s move for Lille’s Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Brazilian has been on the radar of several top European sides this season after a fine campaign with the French side.

Teams like Napoli and Everton have shown interest in him alongside Tottenham.

A report from FootMercato is claiming that Napoli has reached an agreement over the defender’s transfer this summer and that the Italians have even reached an agreement on personal terms for the former Avai man.

But Tottenham isn’t allowing the Italians to have a free run at the coveted player claims the same report.

Jose Mourinho will look to make some additions to his Tottenham team in the summer to prepare for a better 2020/2021 season, and Gabriel might be one of few players that could join Spurs.

Although Lille has agreed to sell him to Napoli they will also listen to the offers from his other suitors like Everton and Tottenham states FootMercato.

Jan Vertonghen is set to leave Spurs on the expiry of his deal this summer and Juan Foyth hasn’t been able to convince Mourinho that he is good enough for his team.

If one or both players eventually leaves, that could make room for an important signing like Gabriel.
