Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.
The player is thought to be on the radar of clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea this summer.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Tottenham are the ‘only club in talks’ with Brentford regarding a deal for the 27-year-old Spaniard. He adds that the player is valued at €45-50 million.
It is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to sign the goalkeeper given the way Hugo Lloris has performed this season. The French international goalkeeper has been quite error-prone and he needs to be replaced as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
On the other hand, Raya has impressed in the Premier League with Brentford and he deserves a step up in his career. He will want to play for a big club capable of challenging for trophies and the opportunity to play for Spurs could be an attractive option for him.
It remains to be seen whether clubs like Chelsea come to the table with an offer for the goalkeeper in the coming weeks.
Tottenham should look to make their move quickly and sign the player in the coming weeks. Signing a goalkeeper should be a top priority for them and new manager Ange Postecoglou will have to address the main weaknesses of the squad before heading into the new season.
Tottenham missed out on Champions League qualification this season and they will be desperate to bounce back strongly and finish in the top four next year.
