“This is life” – Nuno Espírito Santo breaks silence following his sacking at Tottenham

It’s been over a week since Tottenham Hotspur decided to sack manager Nuno Espírito Santo and replace him with former Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte. After eight days of silence, the Portuguese tactician commented on the matter on his Instagram account

Nuno’s remarks are about what you expect from someone that has lost his job but did mention how quickly everything can fall apart on a manager, considering he was named Manager of the Month for August.

Tottenham was off to a good start this season, but it fell off a cliff leading to the dismissal of Nuno last week.

“Wow, the last few weeks have been hectic, to say the least. This is football, the most ruthless sport in the game, only a couple of weeks back, I was crowned Manager of the Month and fast forward to the present, and it’s been some days since my dismissal at Spurs,” Nuno said on his post.

“This is life, I move on forward now, looking for my next challenge, and finally, I want to thank the fans of Spurs. When I joined this great club, I envisaged a vision to bring trophies, but all didn’t go to plan. That’s all’s really we live and learn, look forward to keeping all of you posted, and thank you once again for your constant support.’

Nuno got his first taste of coaching a club that aspires to win trophies and finish in the top four after coming over from Wolverhampton Wanderers. This is a learning experience for Nuno should he ever find himself managing another top-six Premier League club, but it was clear that at Spurs, it wouldn’t work out.
