Talks ‘put on hold’ after European giants refuse loan deal without a clause that Spurs won’t agree to

AC Milan are interested in signing Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr and have already started talks with the club.

Spurs signed Sarr last year from French side Metz and immediately loaned him back to the club for the rest of the season. He has been part of Spurs’ squad this summer but has now attracted interest from Italian giants AC Milan according to Sky Italia (via insidefutbol) who want to sign him on a loan.

However, according to reports, Spurs are willing to loan him but without any option to buy as they view the youngster as part of their plans in the future. Whereas, according to Tuttosport (via insidefutbol), Milan want to agree on a loan deal with an option to sign him on a permanent after the loan ends.

This is where the talks have come to a hold as Spurs view him as a bright prospect for the future while the Italian outfit does not want to develop him just for him to go back to Spurs. With not many days left in the transfer window to shut, it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can strike a deal before the deadline.
