Tactical Shake-up On The Cards From Mourinho That Could Launch Tanganga Into The Big Time

According to Fabrizio Romano, the proverbial Italian giants AC Milan have begun talks with Tottenham for right back Serge Aurier. The former Lens, Toulouse and Paris Saint-Germain, man signed for Spurs back in 2017 for a rumoured £23million – which with some understanding of Spurs’ transfer strategy – probably means Tottenham paid in the region of £19million and the rest was comprised add-ons.

Just how much would Aurier command on the open market these days? In all fairness, and despite some howlers during his brief spell at Spurs, one would expect Daniel Levy to get most of his money back.

What is fascinating about this particular possible exit, is that it would leave Spurs without a designated right back, unless Kyle Walker-Peters were to be recalled from Southampton, which seems somewhat of a leap at this stage.

Unless of course, Jose Mourinho’s secret weapon is Japhet Tanganga (heat map above)? Being a huge Japhet fan, this sounds like an immense step forward. It will – at long last – see the end of this wing-back nonsense that has plagued Tottenham since Kyle Walker scampered off to the Etihad.

Fingers crossed on this one!
