Personal terms agreed but Levy struggling to get the full asking price for Serge Aurier

A source close to the club tells me that Serge Aurier is happy to seek pastures new in Italy and that agreeable personal terms between himself and AC Milan have been agreed. That said, the two sides have yet to come close in terms of a fee. TuttomercatoWeb has suggested €20million, which one feels is a price designed to opening a discussion with, opposed to seal a deal with.

Serge brings with him a whole host of baggage, some good – some most definitely less than good, but with the right coaching, there is certainly a dynamic and effective player in there. This deal should go through for about €15million + plus the usual sting of potential add-ons, which is Aurier’s case could be worth a penny or two, given his penchant for adding the occasional goal throughout the season.

As has been mooted previously, the obvious solution is not to buy Max Aarons from Norwich City, but to instead, install Japhet Tanganga at right back. I fully acknowledge my bias, but as someone who can tell the difference between guano and Shinola, I’d feel extremely confident seeing Japhet made a regular first team star. He’s the business.
