Spurs receive a boost with key man missing for Villa

Tottenham has been handed a boost ahead of their game against Aston Villa today as Jack Grealish looks set to miss out.

The midfielder has missed Villa’s last five games with a shin problem and had been looking to make his comeback in the game today.

However, Mail Sport reports that he won’t be facing the Lilywhites because he has decided to sit out the game and only start playing again when he feels 100 percent fit.

This will be good news for Spurs and Jose Mourinho who need to win the game after back-to-back losses.

They were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in their last league game and spectacularly crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday after letting slip a 2-0 lead from their first leg against Dynamo Zagreb.

They lost the return leg 3-0 to leave the competition and have to save their season by earning a top-four finish.

Villa has missed Grealish, who has been involved in everything good they have done in this campaign.

In his absence, they have won just one of five games, losing two.

Spurs need lifting and earning three points in the game would go a long way in boosting their morale ahead of the remaining fixtures.
