Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to the London club for a while now and Spurs apparently tried to sign him during the January transfer window as well.
According to Jason Burt from the Telegraph, Spurs are now ‘in talks’ to sign the versatile winger who can operate as a wingback as well.
The Belgian international was valued at around £25 million a while ago and it will be interesting to see how much Atletico demand for his services this summer.
Initially, the Spanish outfit were not keen on selling the player, but they are thought to be open to his departure now, before the window closes.
Spurs could definitely use a versatile wide player like him who can slot in as a winger as well as a fullback. Apparently, the player ‘has long been admired’ by Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte and the Italian wishes to bring him to the Premier League this summer.
Spurs already strengthened their wide areas with the arrivals of Ivan Perisic and Richarlison earlier on in the summer. Carrasco could be their eighth summer signing if they manage to pull off the transfer.
