Spurs get transfer boost as target wants Premier League stay

Tottenham has been handed a boost in their bid to sign Joachim Andersen after the Evening Standard revealed that he wants to remain in the Premier League.

He is currently on loan at Fulham from Lyon and although the Cottagers have been relegated, he has been a standout player.

He is set to return to his parent club in the summer, but he is expected to find a new team to play for next season.

Spurs need top defenders and will sacrifice some of their current options in the summer to bolster that part of their team.

Andersen has proven to be a hit in the Premier League and he has outperformed Joe Rodon whom Spurs signed in the summer from Swansea City.

The report says the Lilywhites will try to sign him for around £20million when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

In a boost to their chances of getting the deal done, it adds that he is settled in London and wants to remain in the Premier League.

Spurs are expected to back their next manager with a juicy transfer kitty even though they spent a few quid last summer on the team.

Andersen is expected to be bought even if it requires selling some of their current options.
