Report – Tottenham looking to take advantage after target move collapses

Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that Tottenham has stepped up their pursuit of Napoli striker, Arkadiusz Milik.

The Pole has emerged as a target of Spurs as they look to add a new striker to their team.

They had been planning to land the former Ajax man for nothing next season as he has entered the final year of his current deal.

However, they have now sped up the operation because of a new development.

Milik was supposed to join AS Roma as the Italians looked to be losing Edin Dzeko to Juventus.

But the Old Ladies have moved for Alvaro Morata instead and that will see Dzeko stay put in Rome and end Milik’s move to the Italian capital.

Because Napoli wants to sell him this summer instead of allowing him to leave them for nothing after this season, he looks set to move to Spurs.

The report adds that Tottenham has now advanced their efforts as they look to take advantage of his recent failed move.

They have opened talks with Napoli to try to find an agreement over the sale of the striker before this transfer window closes.

Milik scored 14 goals in 35 games in all competitions for Napoli last season. It remains unclear if he will fancy joining Spurs especially because he will be a backup striker.
