Report – Tottenham finalise their prefered transfer targets

This summer transfer window will be Jose Mourinho’s first summer one as Tottenham’s manager.

The “special one” is a specialist in winning trophies, and he has been brought in to help the Lilywhites end their long wait for a trophy.

He will be looking to end next season with silverware, but he knows that he needs to make additions to his current team before he can challenge other top sides in Europe and in England.

There are a number of positions in the team that need strengthening and Mail Sports has highlighted the goalkeeping position as one that the club will look to strengthen.

It claims that Spurs will look to sign Bournemouth’s Aaron Ramsdale should the Cherries get relegated from the Premier League.

Watford’s Ben Foster and Fulham’s Marcus Bettinelli are alternatives.

The Mail also reports that the club is looking to sign Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Mourinho looks to land a midfielder.

South Korea international Kim Min-jae is also in line for a move to Spurs as the club looks to replace the outgoing Jan Vertonghen, according to the same report.

With money not in so much supply because of the coronavirus pandemic, Mourinho will hope that the club would back him with enough money to get the targets that he needs to achieve his targets for next season.

Whether these players are the ones to help achieve that remains open to debate, however, it is noticeable that the oldest of the three is just 24 (Hojbjerg) and that does appear to show that the club is looking at younger players and long term as opposed to quick fixes with players in their 30’s.
