Report – Tottenham among the clubs in the frame to land Barcelona ace

Tottenham has been named as one of the teams looking to sign Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic in this transfer window.

The Croatian is one of several players who will leave Camp Nou this summer as the Catalans overhaul their squad.

The Spaniards have just made club legend Ronald Koeman their new manager and the former defender has been tasked with overhauling the team and making them competitive again.

Several players at the club are old and they seem to need a change of environment to shine again and Rakitic is one of them.

The former Sevilla man played only a handful of games for the club last season and he has also entered the final year of his current deal at his club.

Mail Online claims that the midfielder appears to have been transfer-listed even before the club crumbled against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, which sparked the desire to sell some of their stars.

Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his playing squad this summer after managing to help them reach the Europa League at the end of last season.

He has already landed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton, but he will want even more quality and experience in his team, something that Rakitic could offer.
