Report Floats Interesting Name As Goalkeeper Who Could Succeed Hugo Lloris

Tottenham are one of a number of clubs who are tracking the availability of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, reports the Daily Mail.

Henderson has enjoyed an excellent second campaign on loan at Sheffield United, who would like to sign him again for 2020-21 but now face stern competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, so good has his form been.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are both apparently admirers of the 22-year-old who has kept nine Premier League clean sheets this season, the most in the division alongside Liverpool’s Alisson and Burnley’s Nick Pope.

The bosses at Old Trafford do see Henderson as a potential future No.1 of their own, but it would be a bold decision to back him over David de Gea, whose form has dipped but was only recently considered the world’s best.

Hugo Lloris has been on a similar slope to the Spaniard over the last 18 months, although the 33-year-old’s performances since returning from injury have shown that he may have been written off by some a little early.

This article from Sky Sports statto Adam Bate supports that assertion.

Henderson could be a really good long-term replacement for Lloris, but timing might work against us if he becomes available this summer because the youngster may not fancy his chances of dethroning the skipper, just yet.
