Report claims Daniel Levy policy could force key man out of the club

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte’s long-term future at the club has been a constant subject of discussion over the last few months.

While there are many who believe that Italian is well settled at the London club and he will continue at Spurs for the foreseeable future, there are rumours that he is angling for a move away from the Premier League club.

A report from La Repubblica is now claiming that Conte is not convinced of Tottenham’s ambitions in the transfer market and he could leave the club in the near future.

Club Chairman Daniel Levy is known to be frugal with his spending and the lack of ambition in the transfer market could make it difficult for Conte to win major trophies with the London club.

While the Italian was heavily backed during the recently concluded summer transfer window, Tottenham’s squad still nowhere near the likes of Manchester City.

Conte is an ambitious manager and he will want to win the Premier League with Tottenham. It is evident that Daniel Levy will have to bring in top-quality players in the upcoming windows in order for that to happen.

The report claims (h/t Sportwitness) that Conte is eyeing up moves for ‘super players’ and it will be interesting to see if the Spurs hierarchy is willing to back him with the funds.

He has previously left clubs like Juventus and Inter Milan because of the lack of ambition in the transfer market and it wouldn’t be surprising if he decided to do the same at Tottenham.

Conte is undoubtedly one of the best managers Tottenham have had in a long time and holding on to him should be their top priority. They must do everything in their power to convince the Italian to stay at the club and give him the backing he demands.
