Report: Arsenal, Tottenham target keen on joining a Champions League club this summer

Reinforcing the midfield is an area on the squad Tottenham Hotspur plans to address this summer. Of the various candidates connected to the north London club, Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans won’t need to adjust to the Premier League.

Tielemans is entering the final year of his deal after this season and reportedly isn’t keen on extending his contract with The Foxes. As a result, they’ll be looking to sell the Belgium international this summer.

However, before any term comes with an offer, The Daily Mail reports that the 25-year-old wants to join a club that will be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

As a result, if Spurs finish outside the top four, he will be someone they’d have to cross off their list, and Tielemans is also linked to Arsenal.

On the other hand, if The Gunners finish ahead of their north London rival, it could mean landing the Leicester City star and clinching Champions League football for 2022-23.

Transfermarkt puts Tielemans value at £50-million, but with one year left on his deal, perhaps it could be lowered.
