Pundit explains why Tottenham will finish ahead of Arsenal in the top four race

Last Thursday, Tottenham Hotspur put some pressure on Arsenal after Antonio Conte’s squad provided a convincing win over their north London rival. Now with two games to go, The Gunners cannot afford another mishap; meanwhile, Spurs at least need to win their last two fixtures.

There are plenty of discussions whether which of these two clubs will come out with that final UEFA Champions League spot. On the latest episode of the “Gary Neville Podcast,” the Sky Sports pundit shared his thoughts on which of the two sides will be coming out on top.

“You’d want Tottenham’s games – Burnley at home and Norwich away. Newcastle away [for Arsenal] on Monday Night Football, that’s going to be really tough, especially if Spurs have won on the Sunday… Everton at home on the last day, if Everton need points, then they’ve got two really tough games,” Neville said.

“I think Tottenham will beat Burnley and Arsenal will have to win their last two matches – but I’m not sure they will. Tonight was a really big blow – I might be wrong and I’m neutral between these two clubs – but I do feel now if I had to put money on it, it would be on Tottenham.”

Arsenal will be facing off against Newcastle United and Everton. The Magpies are attempting to finish the season on a strong note; meanwhile, The Toffees are fighting for their lives to avoid relegation as they sit two points away from the danger area.

Tottenham has Burnley, who is also fighting to avoid relegation, and Norwich City, which is already relegated. Newcastle might present the most problems for Arsenal, while Spurs have favorable fixtures to close the season when it comes to the four opponents both north London clubs will face.
