Premier League new boys make surprising entrance into race for Spur’s target

Sun Sports claims that Fulham has entered the race for Slovakian defender and Tottenham, target, Milan Skriniar.

The Cottagers have just gained promotion back to the Premier League but after three games, they have become one of the favourites to be relegated again.

In their three league games so far, they have conceded at least three goals in each match.

This shambolic display is set to cost them their top-flight status and they want to halt the slide.

Spurs have been negotiating with Inter Milan for the transfer of Skriniar for a long time now.

They are yet to make an official bid for the Slovakian defender, but the Italians want £45m before he will be allowed to leave.

The report claims that Fulham’s desperate bid to avoid relegation will see them bid around £30m to £35m for the former Sampdoria man.

This will smash their previous record transfer outlay on a player, which currently stands at £27m.

After losing Jan Vertonghen for free in this transfer window, it is very important for Tottenham to land a new centre back.

With less than a week before the transfer window closes, Spurs will hope to conclude the move for Skriniar as soon as possible.

It will be surprising if the Slovakian chooses to join a relegation dogfight at Fulham over the prospect of winning trophies with Jose Mourinho.
