Parrott Goal Reminds Mourinho The Irishman Is Still Working Hard [video]

After Jose Mourinho suggested that Troy Parrott isn’t ready for first-team football just yet, the Tottenham youngster reacted in the best possible manner.

His comments came after the bitterly disappointing defeat to Wolves at the weekend, with the Evening Standard reporting that the Spurs boss noted that “he’s not ready”.

For any player looking to make an impact and secure a breakthrough at senior level, that’s not quite the assessment that you’d want to hear from your manager.

However, instead of letting that have an adverse impact on him, the 18-year-old has responded in an ideal manner as he got himself on the score sheet for our U23s side against Wolves on Monday night in a 3-2 win.

It took Parrott just eight minutes to find the back of the net, and it’s hoped that now gives him the confidence boost he needed after perhaps being left disappointed on Sunday.

With Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and other attacking players currently injured, it remains to be seen if he gets another chance to impress in the coming weeks.
