‘I’m not sure’ – Reporter shares thoughts Tottenham possibly pursuing Paulo Dybala

Tottenham Hotspur will be in the market this summer to improve their attack further. During the January transfer, the north London club brought in Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus FC, and the decision to land the 21-year-old has paid off, adding depth to the attack.

Nonetheless, Spurs need to continue addressing the attack. The Premier League side is linked to Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, who will be leaving the Serie A side when his contract expires in June.

With the connection to Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici from their days in Turin and manager Antonio Conte being familiar with the 28-year-old during his time coaching in Italy, it’s not surprising to see his name linked to Spurs.

In a Q&A, Football.London‘s Alasdair Gold shared his thoughts on Tottenham possibly pursuing the Argentine forward this summer as it wouldn’t cost them anything outside of wages.

“There’s no doubting he’s talented and still scores goals, with 13 this season from 29 matches – eight in Serie A – but I’m not sure Fabio Paratici is as desperate to sign him as is being reported in some quarters. If Spurs do end up moving for him, it might well be because Antonio Conte has requested them to, although I’m not entirely whether Conte’s physical demands during and around matches will suit Dybala either with his last couple of years’ worth of injury problems,” Gold said.

“Of course, on the other side of the coin, Dybala himself may want more than Spurs can offer, particularly if they miss out on the Champions League. It would certainly be an eye-catching signing for Tottenham, but the club are at a stage where they really need to make sure they make the right signings for Conte rather than the headline-making ones.”

Dybala has been linked to other clubs like FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Milan, so there will be a market for the soon-to-be free agent.
