If History Repeats Itself Tonight…Spurs Will Lose

It seems a long time ago now – long enough for most of us to have banished it from our memories – but the last time that we played a Premier League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we lost, 3-2 against Wolves.

We have not lost successive Premier League home games since January 2019, when again Wolves were the first defeat in that sequence followed by…you guessed it…Manchester United. David de Gea was a brick wall in the second half after Marcus Rashford’s winning goal at the end of the first half.

So if history repeats itself tonight, we’ll be restarting the season in defeat.

However, not all the omens are against us ahead of United’s visit. We have not lost three in a row against the Red Devils since October 2010, and all of those defeats came at Old Trafford. Our home record versus United since that run reads four draws, three wins, and two defeats. Not bad.

Would you take a draw tonight? Live to fight another day?
