Ian Wright reckons that Carlos Vinicius will probably play his way into a permanent Tottenham deal after the Brazilian scored a first-half hat-trick against Marine in the FA Cup.
He was signed on loan from Benfica in the summer to stand in as a backup to Harry Kane.
The Lilywhites have the option of making his move permanent at the end of this season and the chances are that the Brazilian will want that.
He is yet to be trusted to start Premier League games by Jose Mourinho, but the Special One has been granting him minutes in the cup competitions.
He has 3 goals in 5 Europa League games and has now scored 3 more in a single FA Cup appearance.
All his goals against Marine came in the first half, and he left Wright impressed with the performance.
The former Arsenal striker was on punditry duty on BBC One and he said Vinicius’ confidence will keep going up as he scores goals like he is doing now.
He then said if the striker maintains his current form, including in the Premier League, then Spurs should decide to keep him with them permanently.
“Scoring goals like this builds confidence,” Wright said on the BBC.
“They’ve needed someone who can come in and finish. If he can continue to get confidence and take that into the Premier League, they can sign him. He looks really good.”
