“He brings great confidence” – Harry Kane praises the hiring of Antonio Conte

Over the summer, Harry Kane was the subject of countless rumors linking him to a departure from Tottenham Hotspur, with Manchester City being the destination for the 28-year-old. However, a move to the Premier League rival didn’t occur.

Furthermore, Kane didn’t get off to a good start this season under former manager Nuno Espírito Santo leading to the sacking and hiring of Antonio Conte. During an interview with Canal+ (via Foot Mercato), Kane spoke about his initial thoughts about the hiring.

The Tottenham striker admitted not knowing much about him but talking with players who played under the Italian tactician; he got an idea of what type of manager Spurs brought to lead the project under Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici.

“I did not know much about him,” Kane said. “I asked questions to former players who played under him; they all said good things, that he is a great, honest guy.”

“He brought professionalism to the club; we had lost in intensity in training, but also in discipline. He really gave us what it takes to show the best of ourselves. He brings great confidence to the club.”

Under Conte, it appears as though Kane has found his scoring boots, scoring three goals in his last four Premier League matches for Tottenham, who finds itself within striking distances of a UEFA Champions League spot.
