Has Tottenham Bailed On Piatek? Chelsea Could Snap Up AC Striker Says Miguel Delaney

Krzysztof Piatek to Tottenham may yet prove to be another one of those now infamous one that got away transfer situations.

The Telegraph’s chief football writer Miguel Delaney, claims that Spurs have failed to see the value in paying £30million for the 24-year-old AC Milan striker.

Suddenly this blogger is experiencing that biannual sinking feeling, that routinely occurs during Premier League transfer windows. That horribly short-changed feeling.

Given the recent kerfuffle with PSV Eindhoven’s Steven Bergwijn, it’s not beyond the bounds of reason to believe that with Piatek out of the picture, Spurs went with a player deemed to “represent better value” to the board.

If this is the case, then may I be the first to say, “Welcome to Tottenham Hotspur football club, Mr Mourinho.”

The business of Spurs’ current vacancy for a defensive midfielder will hopefully be solved once Tanguy Ndombele has found his bowling length on the training pitches at Hotspur Way.

However, the business of Spurs’ rustling up an additional striker is not something that might so readily resolve itself.
