Harry Kane tipped to erase Thierry Henry from record books

Harry Kane has started this season in fine goalscoring form and he has even added a new dimension to his game.

The Englishman is famed for his goalscoring abilities and he remains one of the best attackers in the world at the moment.

However, he has now added providing assists to his game.

He has formed a deadly double-act with Son Heung-min in the Tottenham attack that has seen him provide 8 assists in just 6 Premier League games this season.

The record of the number of assists in a league season by any player in the Premier League is 20.

Thierry Henry held the record for a long time and it was only equalled by Kelvin de Bruyne last season.

Martin Keown was writing for Daily Mail and he claimed that the record is now at risk of being broken by the in-form Kane.

He claims that if the England striker remains at the top of his game, he will break it this season.

He wrote in the Daily Mail: “He [Kane] is starting high, dropping deep, and showing there is more to his game than merely scoring goals.

“With eight assists in six games, at this rate Kane would obliterate the Premier League record of 20, shared by Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.”
