Guglielmo Vicario grabbed his teammate by the neck and pulled him away during half-time altercation

Tottenham Hotspur’s week took a turn for the worse as they suffered defeats to both Liverpool over the weekend and Chelsea midweek.

Spurs’ 4-2 loss at Anfield marked their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, following losses to Newcastle, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

The Lilywhites entered the break trailing 2-0 and might have considered themselves fortunate not to be behind by a larger margin.

Ange Postecoglou’s players showed frustration with their lacklustre performance, as fan footage captured defenders Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal involved in an altercation at half-time.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario intervened to separate Romero from Emerson, who were exchanging heated words during the argument.

Vicario grabbed the Argentine defender by the neck to separate him and pulled him away from the scene as all the players were heading to the dressing room.

TBH Says:

Romero was visibly frustrated by the poor defending from his teammates and he let the emotions get better of him as he said some words to Royal which he did not like.

But Vicario’s quick awareness of the situation and timely intervention before it escalated is commendable. It shows why he is considered as one of the leaders in the team.
