Expect the unexpected from Daniel Levy and that is why this man could be the next Tottenham manager

Daniel Levy has a history of hiring managers that verged on the unexpected, Jacques Santini, Martin Jol, Jose Mourinho, even Harry Redknapp all came out of the blue. It is rare that Levy goes with the expected and I suspect it will be no different this time.

Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, Scott Parker are all mentioned on a regular basis and the likes of Erik Ten Hag, Roberto Martinez and Hansi Flick also get name-dropped but I am of the opinion it will be none of them.

Lazio manager Simeone Inzaghi heads the market for some weird reason, no idea why that is but I just cannot see him being the next Tottenham boss, so who does that leave, who will Levy go for.

Well, I have decided to drop a few quid on a 20/1 outsider and have backed Lille manager Christophe Galtier to be given the job.

Yes, I know some will say why would he leave Lille who is likely to be crowned French champions and will be competing in next seasons Champions League.

But the Premier League and a big English club is sometimes too big an opportunity to miss and I am sure Galtier knows that his squad will be broken up in the summer and that his Lille side is probably not going to be as competitive next season.

It is not arrogant to suggest that Spurs are a much bigger club than Lille, it is a fact, despite the horrendous season the club has just experienced.

Galtier plays the sort of football that is synonymous with Spurs, he does not hesitate to blood the younger ones and he is obviously good at his job to dethrone PSG.

Levy may well hire a tired old manager like Rafa Benitez or really smack us all in the nether regions and do something ridiculous like go for a Chris Wilder type of manager but even I doubt that will happen.

I expect it to be a bit of a surprise and Galtier just ticks all those boxes for me.
