Everton set to beat Tottenham to signature of quality South American star

Long-term Tottenham target, Luis Diaz is on his way to the Premier League, but he is not heading to London.

The 24-year-old Colombian was first linked with a move to Tottenham last summer, according to Football London when Jose Mourinho was keen to add him to his squad.

However, the deal never went through and he proved instrumental as FC Porto reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season.

He spent this summer with the Colombian national team at the Copa America and emerged as the joint top scorer in the competition alongside Lionel Messi.

He is now set to leave Porto and he is heading to England, but Football London claims in another report that he is heading to Everton.

The report claims that the Toffees have beaten Tottenham to his signature and they are closing in on agreeing a transfer fee with the Portuguese club.

Rafa Benitez’s side is prepared to send James Rodriguez to Porto on loan as a part of the transfer.

Tottenham has signed some exciting players in this window and they have also kept hold of Harry Kane.

They will hope they have the squad to help them become a top-four club once again.
