‘…Conte and Kane to leave next summer’: Sky Sports man drops ‘huge’ claim ahead of the new season.

Harry Kane’s future remains the biggest talk of the summer after public admission of interest from Bayern Munich CEO and manager.

With just 2 years left in his contract and no news of contract extension talks, there have been concerns among the Spurs fans but talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook claimed a couple of days ago that Spurs’ hierarchy are extremely confident that Kane will sign a new contract and that the Englishman is ‘open’ to talks.

But now former Spurs keeper Paul Robinson has issued a ‘huge’ warning to Spurs ahead of the new season. Reacting to the news that Kane is open to new contract talks, the Sky Sports man has claimed that it all depends on what happens on the pitch in the coming season. Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, he said:

“Performance holds everything together at Spurs. The pack of cards could quickly come crashing down if performances and results aren’t what is expected this year.

“If Spurs do not finish in the top four this season I would expect Conte and Kane to leave next summer. Their futures are dependant on results and one another. It will have a huge effect on what they both do going forward.

“Harry Kane expressed his desire to leave last year. He wanted to win trophies and have success before the end of his career.

“If there is no sign of progression this year and the manager leaves, the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG will come knocking.

“It is a huge season for Spurs on the field. By the same token, if they do well Conte and Kane would both probably sign new deals. It would take care of itself.”

It is true. Whether Kane signs a new contract or not depends on the next 10 months which are crucial for Spurs. Harry Kane who has started off the pre-season campaign in red hot form will be looking for silverware this season and if Spurs don’t manage to win one then it won’t be a shock if he’s off to the likes of Bayern Munich next year.
